Drug & Alcohol Treatment

APM was the first agency in Philadelphia to provide treatment for drug and alcohol rehabilitation designed specifically for the Latino population. Our Proyecto Nueva Vida (PNV) program provides intensive and regular outpatient services to adults. The Drug and Alcohol clinic offers family and couples therapy and can provide substance abuse treatment to individuals as young as 14 years old. APM staff is bilingual and culturally sensitive to meet the special needs of our population.

Participants also benefit from APM’s extensive health and social service programs, thereby reducing a number of stress factors that trigger substance abuse behaviors. The program is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

To qualify the client must:

  • Be free of opioids
  • Complete intake process including urine screening
  • Be examined by the physician
  • Have medical insurance or private pay

How does it work?

  • Weekly individual therapy sessions with a trained Substance Abuse Counselor
  • Twice-weekly group sessions
  • Relapse prevention
  • Behavioral Health Education
  • Monthly Medication Management appointments with prescribing physician

Suboxone is very effective and helps greatly to allow the client to have a more comfortable opiate detox and maintenance program.
