Gustavo Castro works as a Mental Health Professional for APM specializing in trauma, anger management, and family and couples counseling. He also work with survivors of sexual assault. He is the team leader for the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy team that works to provide high quality services that are culturally sensitive.

Gustavo worked in Venezuela as a training manager for Merck Pharmaceutical Company before deciding to move to the United State in 2005. He joined the APM team as a Mental Health Professional and was promoted to Clinical Director, a position he held until 2015.

Gustavo Castro graduated from the University of Buenos Aires Medical School as an MD, and he also has a Master’s degree in neurology. He has multiple certifications as a co-occurring disorder professional, a sexual assault counselor, and a trauma specialist. He earned his certification as a CBT Specialist from the Beck Community Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania.

As a Mental Health Professional for APM, Rolando Da Costa provides clinical services to individuals in need of mental health therapy. He works with the Behavioral Health Team to provide individual therapy in an outpatient setting that is high quality and culturally sensitive.

Rolando has dedicated his career to serving the mental health needs of his community. Before coming to APM, he provided services at the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and Nueva Vida Behavioral Health Center of Philadelphia. He has shared his expertise as Adjunct Faculty at LaSalle University and as an instructor at Catholic Mobile Institute with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Rolando Da Costa has earned multiple Master’s degrees in family therapy, education administration, and theology from universities in Lima-Peru and the Dominican Republic. He is involved in local politics and passionate about supporting his community.

As a Mental Health Professional, Orlando Calizan provides mental health services designed to help his patients overcome their challenges in an environment that is both effective and culturally sensitive. He is a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist who gives his patients they tools they need to improve their mental health.

Orlando has spent his career as a part of APM’s Behavioral Health Team. During his time with the organization, he has employed a variety of treatments such as psychotherapy, behavior modification, stress reduction therapy, psychodrama and play therapy to help his patients achieve their goals.

Orlando earned a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Imafa, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

APM’s Behavioral Health Clinics


APM maintains two behavioral health clinics delivering professional, culturally sensitive treatment and prevention services to more than 2,000 City residents without geographic restriction. All services offer bilingual diagnoses and treatment for our community’s mental health issues.

Treatment is provided through individual, family and group therapy and child play therapy in an outpatient setting. Our services are available in an individual, family, couple, and group basis, in an outpatient setting. Clinical services include an array of psychotherapeutic modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychiatric intervention. We are a Sanctuary Model Agency with our staff and program participants and throughout the Behavioral Health programs. For acute or critical mental and emotional problems, psychiatric evaluation and carefully monitored medication plans are also available. Our clinical staff is bilingual and multi-cultural. We provide translation services to individuals who speak Spanish only.

APM Mental Health provides the following specific services:

  • Individual Therapy
  • Family and Group Therapy
  • Couples Counseling
  • Psychiatric Evaluations
  • Psychiatric Intervention
  • Medication Monitoring
