Angelica’s Story

October 11, 2019Nilda Ruiz

Angelica’s story is one of true resiliency, overcoming many obstacles to improve her quality of life. Angelica first came to APM when her anxiety was at an all-time high and her state of depression kept her feeling very low. Her issues with trust kept her from interacting with others. She worked with a number of therapists who were not the right fit for her, until she became a client of Mr. Luis Lara.

“Luis helped me put things into perspective. He asked me, “What do you want to do with your life?” Since I never wanted to work for anyone, I said I wanted to be an entrepreneur“, Angelica said.

Through working with Mr. Lara, Angelica developed confidence in her own independence. Due to following her treatment plan, she was able to move into her own home and became a business owner of her own cleaning company, which she maintains to this day.

Angelica’s experience would not have been possible if she did not receive the necessary prescriptions that improved her quality of life, along with the empathy and assistance of Mr. Luis Lara. Mr. Lara assisted Angelica in changing her perspective using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which in turn changed her outlook. Angelica is thankful that Mr. Lara showed an interest in her wanting to become an entrepreneur, and helped her gain the confidence she needed to pursue her goal.

Angelica said, “Coming to the APM clinic was a great experience for me. Staff are very attentive to clients, provide great customer service, and work as a team to help clients succeed in their treatment.”
