APM Brings COVID-19 Vaccine to Under-Resourced Neighborhoods

Press Releases

Latino-founded nonprofit to vaccinate 400 community members, clients and employees

WHAT: Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha (APM) is partnering with Temple University to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at its Paseo Verde Headquarters. A second simultaneous clinic will take place at the APM Rising Stars Early Childhood Education Center. Together, they will provide a total of 400 first doses of the Moderna vaccine in North Philadelphia neighborhoods that have been historically under-resourced. As of mid-March, less than 6% of Latino residents had been vaccinated.

Throughout the pandemic, APM has found ways to meet the needs of the community. These clinics will allow community residents and APM employees to receive the vaccine at locations that are trusted and familiar. Bilingual staff will be onsite to further ensure critical access to the Latino community.

Vaccinations were scheduled by appointment only for Philadelphia residents ages 16 to 75 with a pre-existing condition or over age 75. Second doses will be scheduled for Saturday, May 15.
