PLEASE JOIN US AT OUR EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL SUGAR CANE FESTIVAL – THE OFFICIAL START OF SUMMER IN LATINO PHILADELPHIA!

(PLEASE NOTE: Date changed to June 18, 2022 due to weather concerns.)

Featuring the music of Tito Puente Jr.

The Eighteenth Annual Sugar Cane Festival is set for Saturday, June 18 from noon to 4:00 PM at 6th Street & Germantown Avenue.

Our Festival is bigger and better this year, filling three blocks. Come pick up information and materials to help you and your family, listen to some great music, and eat some great food!

We will also have a children’s area with face painting, balloon animals, and DIY carnival games!

The Festival honors the historic significance of the sugarcane crop for generations of Puerto Ricans and recognizes the sugarcane workers who migrated from the Island to Philadelphia to work in the refinery. We will again have pavas and sugarcane to hand out to Festival attendees. Come early to get yours!

The Festival is free and open to the public.

If you would like to sponsor the Festival or reserve a tent with a table and two chairs, please contact Teresa Mulligan, Director of Fund Development, at terry.mulligan@apmphila.org.
