WHAT: Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, will host a free preventative education school assembly for nearly 800 students at the Community Academy of Philadelphia, as part of its Goya Cares initiative, ‘Stay Smart. Stay Safe: Protecting Our Children.’ This impactful event aimed to empower children with essential knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to potential dangers in their environment. During the assembly, students will learn how to identify red flags in various situations, such as online interactions, peer pressure, and unsafe environments, fostering their ability to discern safe from unsafe behaviors. By providing these young attendees with practical tools and strategies, Goya Foods is not only contributing to their well-being but also instilling a sense of confidence and awareness that can help protect them in their daily lives.
Goya Cares is a global initiative dedicated to creating a safer, healthier world for communities everywhere. We believe in promoting and supporting the overall well-being of communities through active social responsibility and the embodiment of Goya’s core company values. We believe in fostering partnerships with organizations dedicated to transforming lives through a whole-child approach. We are committed to protecting children from all forms of abuse and exploitation through preventative education while raising awareness of mental health challenges faced by children and teens. Together, we strive to empower the next generation and foster resilient communities, ensuring a more compassionate and kinder world for all.
